Happy Birthday Michele

After working like a jackrabbit on crack all day, Kim and I met Bob and Lisa at Michele and Bryan's for Michele's Birthday Party. It was nice to see everyone and just relax for a little bit.

Michele demonstrated how much she really looks like Punky Brewster, after Kim and I gave her the DVD's. (Yes, I finally found Season 1.)

SOX and the Marina

Saturday I pretty much worked all day, but then on Sunday I decided to work from Starbucks and have a couple of nice Tazo (tm) Green Tea Frappuchinos, if I could have had a couple of cigars, it would have been better.

After work, I met Kim at the marina with a surprise (bunch of balloons with a special Disney Princess balloon). We had some ice cream, I had my usual La Gloria Cubana #6 and spent awhile relaxing and talking which is always good. Unfortunately, we didn't have a ton of time, but we made the most of it.

I love the fact that we can do something so simple and relaxing and make it special. :)

Now, I gotta get ready to finish SOX.

Fine dining and bowling

After I finally got out of work today, Kim and I met up with Bryan and Michele for dinner at the French Pub (on French Road) which was pretty good. As much as I love French Onion soup, theirs was just okay. I "tried" the New England Clam Chowder from the salad bar and then "tried" a bunch of other stuff for Kim and Bryan who opted out of the salad bar in favor of chicken wings.

I also searched the greater WNY area for Punky Brewster Season 1 for Michele's BDay gift because Kim REALLY wanted to get that for her.

I should have started this out by stating how massively sleep deprived I was from insane hours at work. After eating Kim and I went to the breakwall on the river where I almost fell asleep. We went bowling for Michele's birthday and I kicked ass in the first game (after the Diet Pepsi started flowin') and then sucked for the remaining two games.

I know that Kim and I had fun depite the fact that I was exhausted, and I slept in the next morning until I had to go to work.

Skip ahead until Sunday...

Erie County Fair 2005

Kim and I went to the Erie County Fair (I won't call it by the other name) today. We got two free tickets into the fair and free parking passes from her Aunt and Uncle which was great.

I had Gyros for one of the first times after my Uncle Bruce and Aunt Ronee's restaurant Speedy Dogs and Beef closed. (I forgot how good those were.) We also had some curly q fries which were good, but I could have made them faster myself.

Kim got to have her wine slushy and I had a La Gloria Cubana which is never bad. :)

The best part was that we decided to go on the horse and buggy ride through a small part of the grounds. While we were waiting, the driver told Kim and I that the horse's name was "maduro" which was perfect. Surprisingly enough, the horse definately had the coloring of a maduro cigar. What was even better was when I told Kim after the ride was over what the name referred to and she understood that it was all meant to be. :)

Something else which was cool was that we got to see a Kodiak bear and a couple of bear cubs at the fair. We both felt horrible watching the bears because they were way too confined. The cubs had fun playing, but the full grown Kodiak was just wandering around.

We had a good time, the rain decided to hold off until just before we left which was great. Topped it off with ice cream from Friendly's and it was a great day.

My movie

Well, Friday night Kim and I went out to the movies. We went to see "The 40 year old virgin" aka the Scott story. :)

Anyone seeing this movie think that some Hollywood producers swooped into West Seneca, had a little chat with me and flew back to Hollywood (or Vancouver) and started production of the film.

Here were the three things that I told those big shots I wanted changed...

1.) He had to ride a bike instead of a shitty Tracker.

2.) He couldn't work with computers, but other electronics were fine.

3.) He couldn't live at home with his parents.

Other than that, everything else was good to go.

I laughed so much at this movie, I still can't figure out what was funnier, the movie, or the fact that I've had some of the same conversations with my friends. Sadly, when my friends DO go to see that movie, I am never, eeeeevvvvveeeeeerrrrr going to hear the end of it. (For a day or two, then we'll all get sick of it.)

This movie was funny as hell (tm). I would definately suggest going to see it to anyone. For those of you within the Buffalo, NY area, go see it at the drive in on Harlem Road. They have a double feature with Wedding Crashers which would be great. I think that Kim and I are going to have to go see that double feature even though we've seen both movies.

Camping with the Devans (Sunday)

Well, the weather was mostly cold and rainy...
Kim and I surprised everyone by picking up Timmy Ho's for breakfast.

I attempted to smoke the Bolivar #2 which sucked as bad as the one that I gave Bob.

We got to play Scattegories which was fun and then...

We broke-it-up with some other games and then went back to visit Bob and Lisa while Lisa's Mom and Dad (Kag and Stan) were there for her brother's birthday.

Apparently, Lisa and Kim took the opportunity to make fun of Bob and I when we went to her brother outside of Sherkston. (Damn you two, that song is stuck in my head.)

Kim and I attempted to battle the stupid tent and the air mattress, gave up and decided to eat. She wasn't feeling well most of the weekend, and I'm kinda worried. I guess I'll have to stalk her with some stuff. (But, I don't think that I need anyone to drive for me.)

Camping with the Devans (Saturday night)

Saturday was a cool as hell despite starting out on the wrong foot (or leg).

Kim and I slept in the tent Friday night and I woke up probably 4 times, once yelling in pain kinda loud. My leg cramped up and it sucked. I couldn't even walk it off like when I was going to the gym all the time. I thought that it was just because of all the running around that I did Friday, but it's more likely that I was dehydrated.

Kim, Michele, Bryan and I went to visit Bob and Lisa at Sherkston during the afternoon which was cool finally getting to see them and find out how Alaska was.

Kim, Michele and Bryan decided to go swimming at the Quarry, while Lisa, Bob and I went to the waterslides which was both fun and painful.

Yes, you heard me, painful...

I haven't done anything like that in probably over 20 years, so I decided to lay down in the slide and go faster (thanks for that advice, Bob) and I smashed my elbow into my side.

My chest is still hurting from it a couple of days later. If I stretch (or sneeze, blink, whatever) my chest hurts.

After that happened, we still went down the slides a couple more times. (I wasn't gonna let a little bit of pain stop me.)

Then, we went to the quarry...

I thought what better way to surprise Kim than to swim out to see her out in the middle of the lake (without a noodle). Let's just say that was one of the dumbest ideas I've EVER had. My leg cramped up (come on, you're kidding me, I should have been fine... That would NEVER happen to me.) Yes, I am a dumbass, I'll admit it now.

The whole point to me doing it wasn't that, it was to get over being in the water. I seem to be doing well with facing my other fears this year, why not get that one out of the way as well....

And while everyone was having a good time, I was trying to get rid of the cramp. :(

Once it started to feel better, I decided to jump off the peer (again, no noodle) because everyone else was. (And yes, I would jump off a cliff if the cool kids were doing it too.)

After that we had London Broil at the cabin which was incredible. I never had that before, and it was great. We went back to Bob and Lisa's to see fireworks. (Yes, for those of you keeping track in the studio audience, I believe that's 4 times this year.)

I got to smoke the Cuban Montecristo cigar which was great and since I had my new shiny flask filled with Green Label Jack Daniels.

Just hanging out with Kim and my friends, some Jack Daniels, and a cuban cigar it was a fun night...

Camping with the Devans (Friday night)

Kim and I were invited by Bryan and Michele to visit them at their family's cabin for the weekend. Bob and Lisa invited all of us to visit them during their honeymoon at Sherkston which was a block away.

It's a good thing that we were supposed to be relaxing this weekend, because I needed it after this past week. It took me almost until the time that we got to the Peace Bridge to stop talking like Blurr (John Moshita). I left work at 3:30 managed to get some cigars from Virgil, go to the mall and buy my nephew a game, bought Kim a "Build a Bear" which looks like me so she doesn't miss me too much while I am at work 24 / 7 over the next two weeks, get stuff from Dick's sporting goods, pack my crap, talk to my parents and go to Kim's so that we could get to the cabin before 7.

I made it from the Galleria Mall to my front door in 15 minutes. Chris, it felt like one of the old days in the Battle Wagon.

The first thing I gotta say is, holy crap, was that some GREAT food. I easily gained a couple of pounds (sorry, kilos) this weekend.

We had Ribs and Chicken Friday night and some incredible tuna salad. (Not a huge fan of tuna salad normally which is why this was so damn good.)

After dinner, we just hung out while waiting for the stupid airmattress that I bought to get inflated. It took 3 and a half hours, I shit you not...

Bob and Lisa had company so Michele and Bryan, Kim and I went to Clifton Hill which just kicked ass. Everyone wanted to make sure that I was able to get some Cuban cigars while I was there which was cool. I picked up 4 cigars, two Bolivar #2's and two Montecristos. The Montecristo was great, it's just too bad that the Bolivars sucked (sorry about that, Chuck).

Kim, Lisa, Bob, Michele and Bryan, I am telling you guys this now...

I want to go back to Clifton Hill.

I want to go in one of those haunted places this fall. Kim thought that I was being sarcastic about being there at first and that I didn't like it. It's probably as close to Vegas as I'm ever gonna get. (Not that it's even close to what Vegas is like, it's just a bit showier than Toronto is.)

Here are some of the pictures that we took.

This one is from "The GREAT Canadian Miiidwaaaay"

Yes, I am completely sober in this picture (just don't ask)...

"And that's the bottom line, cause Stone Cold Scott said so...."

This was from the Hershey store, home of the thickest Milkshake ever. (It puts Wendy's Frosty to shame.)

Stalkers

Well, no matter what happened Sunday night, I just couldn't snap out of my depression. Hell, my family was in from Indiana to see us and I really just wanted to be alone. After waking up later than usual to go to work, I had an incredibly nice surprise waiting at my car.

A Star Wars mylar balloon complete with Strawberry Charms Blow Pop sucker and a nice card from Kim.

Yes, Kim and Michele took a little drive Sunday night and decided to stalk me. Kim had Michele drive around the block about 5 times with only the parking lights on trying to get the courage to open my car door and put the balloon and card inside of it. Finally, Kim saw that my window was open so she stuck the card in the door and the balloon wedged in the window.

My sister left late last night and saw everything and opened the door and setup everything nice so I'd see it in the morning. (The card fell on the floor.)

It was so nice that I was almost back to another Brendan Frasier "Bedazzled" moment. ;)

I was never so happy to be stalked in my life.
